IKU Switzerland
Sensei Marcel Hübscher (IKU Switzerland Branch Chief)

My journey into the world of martial arts began in 1987, when I was first introduced to the Japanese martial art of Karate. Over the following years, I trained in the traditional art of Karate-Do under the guidance of Shihan Peter Von Rotz in Lucerne. His mentorship laid the technical and philosophical foundation of my martial arts path.
My training later continued at Dojo Obernau in Kriens, under the instruction of Ruth and Beat Näpflin. I spent several valuable years there, further deepening my skills and understanding of discipline, spirit, and the true essence of Budo.
After this period, I pursued artistic and apparatus gymnastics, which strengthened my physical abilities, balance, and body control. Although gymnastics enriched my abilities, my heart remained deeply connected to Karate.
Karate has always been more than a sport for me — it is a passion, a way of life, and a philosophy. With this realization, I decided to leave my gymnastics career behind and return to my true path. I returned to the city of Kriens — more precisely to Honbu Emmenbrücke and Ebikon — to continue my journey in Karate-Do with renewed purpose.
Today, I am honored and humbled to have been given the opportunity to open my own dojo, where I can pass on the art, values, and spirit of Karate-Do to the next generation.
This milestone, and much of the path that has led me here, is deeply influenced by my mentor, Kaicho David Farzinzad, Founder of IKU USA and Founder of the International Kyokushinkai Union (IKU). His guidance, wisdom, and dedication have been a constant source of inspiration, shaping both my martial arts journey and my personal growth.
